With Air
North the Yukon is a short jump away from the southern hubs. Once up here, our
winter
adventure leads you into breathtaking scenery. At Frances Lake
Wilderness Lodge, in the untouched Southeast Yukon, you will experience
the overwhelming beauty of northern winter! Lay your own snowshoe
tracks in the dazzling white snow, try cross-country skiing. How about
ice fishing or building an igloo? Combine a stay in true wilderness
with a good chance of spotting northern lights. Enjoy your own cozy log
cabin and a crackling wood fire spreading comfy warmth. Indulge in
great food, relax or take a sauna followed by a cool-off in the snow!
8-day fly-in itinerary:
Day 1: From Vancouver, Calgary or Edmonton
you take Air North – Yukon’s friendly Airline – to Whitehorse. We have
booked you in a nice hotel in the city. The remainder of the day is at
your own leisure.
Day 2: After breakfast you get picked up at
your hotel for the short drive to frozen Schwatka Lake, where you board
a ski plane. Enjoy a scenic flight over endless forests, snowy
mountains, frozen lakes and rivers. The flight to our secluded lodge
takes about 1 hour 45 minutes. Upon arrival you will be shown to your
cozy, private log cabin. Explore the vicinity of the lodge and enjoy
the incredible beauty and silence of Frances Lake. Evenings, a hearty
dinner will be served in the main building, which boasts an awesome
view of the Logan Mountains. The lodge also features a bright and
comfortable living room with a small library.
Day
3 - 6: Together we will explore and enjoy the fairytale
winter paradise. Try cross-country skiing or snowshoeing. The trails
will lead us along the lake and through forests to exciting viewpoints.
We might spot a few moose or wolves, but for sure there will be no
other humans. One excursion will bring us to a creek where we will find
the frozen stairs of a waterfall. Another time we may venture into the
miraculous East Arm area with scenic bays, narrows and islands. Many
animals are around the lake and you will learn to tell their tracks
apart. How about trying to catch a fish through the thick ice? Or
learning to build an igloo - and even sleep in it? And at night, with a
bit of luck, you will be rewarded by watching the dancing Northern
Lights. The incredible silence may only be interrupted by the howling
of the wolves.
Day
7: Unfortunately, you will have to leave
this wonderful place. The ski plane will take you back to Whitehorse,
where you will spend one more night in your city hotel.
Day 8: Enjoy again the friendly service on
Air North's flight home.

This package is offered from mid February to late March.
It is available daily from Vancouver or Mon, Wed, Fri from Edmonton and
Calgary.
It is possible to delay your return flight and continue discovering the
Yukon by yourself.

Rate: $3970 CAD + GST per person
(based on double occupancy).

Not included:
- Meals in Whitehorse
- Alcoholic beverages and soft drinks (the lodge is
licensed and has a selection in stock)
- Appropriate winter clothing (we gladly advise or
rent upon reservation)
- We have a limited number of cross-country skis and
boots at the lodge, but recommend taking your own gear with you!
- Personal insurance (trip cancellation, medical
insurance): We strongly recommend to arrange for sufficient coverage
before the start of your trip.
Option: For travelers with
limited time there is also a 6-day option available (3 nights at the
lodge). Please inquire about pricing.
