This
all-inclusive lodge-based getaway is for anyone wanting a reprieve from
the stresses of modern-day life. If you are after an active adventure
or are looking to relax and luxuriate in an unrivalled natural and
untouched setting, this is the trip for you. Whether you choose to stay
close to the lodge or venture farther afield, our canoes, kayaks,
fishing boats, and guided tours are all available at no extra cost.
TYPICAL SIX-DAY ITINERARY:
Day 1: Individual journey to
Frances Lake. Meeting point is at the boat ramp near the campground.
Here we will pick you up by motorboat and bring you to the lodge, what
takes about 30 minutes. If you prefer to see the Yukon from the air,
ask us about floatplane flights from Whitehorse. At the lodge you stay
in your private cozy log cabin. Professionally prepared meals are
served in the main building which boasts an awesome view of the Logan
Mountains. In the same building we also have a bright and comfortable
living room with a small library.
Days 2 to 5: The days at Frances Lake offer
you a wide variety of adventures. You may enjoy them at your own
leisure or join any or all of our offered activities: Guided excursions
by boat to the abandoned trading post of the famous Hudson’s Bay Company, old
trapper cabins and scenic bays, ponds and rivers. Fishing boats give
you a chance to try your luck at landing lake trout, northern pike,
arctic grayling and bull trout (guided or on your own). Canoes and
kayaks offer you ample opportunities to explore the surroundings of the
lodge on your own after we have shown you the basics of paddling. Bald
eagle, loon, beaver and moose are often seen in this area. A hidden
waterfall or a vast delta teeming with birdlife can be visited during
your stay. Short hiking trails have been established near the lodge for
your convenience. An open air rest area with a barbecue invites you to
take in the magnificent view while you relax, chat, read or write.
Our full-time chef prepares excellent meals using plenty of fresh
produce and locally grown lettuce for you to enjoy when you return to
the lodge after a day filled with exciting adventures. And remember
that this unique wilderness lodge caters to only a few guests at a
time, offering an experience you will never forget! Let us spoil you at
Frances Lake Wilderness Lodge and enjoy the remote wilderness!
Day 6: After breakfast you will
leave the lodge and we bring you back to the boat ramp, from where you
continue your individual travels.
