Are you dreaming of being part of the pristine
Canadian wilderness for a while? Enjoy the perfect combination of
comfortable lodge stay and adventurous campfire romance!
After two nights at Frances Lake Wilderness Lodge we
take the motorboat to the East Arm of Frances Lake, where we put up our
tents at a remote sandy bay for the next few days. We will learn about
the outdoors, discover new plants, observe moose, beaver, eagle and
otter. Canoeing, kayaking, fishing, relaxing. An experience that will
touch your soul! The last night is back at the lodge in your cozy log
cabin. Enjoy the comfort of a rustic life style and let you spoil once
more by our personal service, sauna and great food.
ITINERARY:
Day 1: Individual journey to
Frances Lake. Meeting point is at the boat ramp near the campground.
Here we will pick you up by motorboat and bring you to the lodge, what
takes about 30 minutes. At the lodge you stay in your private cozy log
cabin. Professionally prepared meals are served in the main building
which boasts an awesome view of the Logan Mountains. In the same
building we also have a bright and comfortable living room with a small
library.
Day 2: Today you can relax
at the lodge, participate in guided excursions, go fishing, paddle in
the sheltered bay or stroll along the lake's beach. A visit to the
abandoned Hudson’s
Bay Company trading post carries you away into past times.
Enjoy the comforts of your cabin as well as take advantage of the
shower, sauna and a soft bed - not to mention our great home-cooked
meals!
Day 3: After breakfast we will
leave the lodge and take a pleasant boat ride to the East Arm of
Frances Lake. In a remote sandy bay we put up our wilderness camp for
the next few days. We make a first reconnaissance of our new home.
Maybe we already catch a fish for tonight’s dinner at the campfire?
Day
4 to 5: On day trips by canoe or on foot we discover charming
beaches, bays and nearby tarns. With a little luck we can observe
moose, beaver, eagle and otter. We learn about the outdoors and
discover new plants. We have plenty of time for relaxing, photography
and angling - or go for a refreshing dip in the lake! Our daily program
is determined by the group. Our goal is to live in the rhythm of the
nature.
Day 6: Eventually we take down
our tents, load up our canoes and say good bye to the striking
beautiful landscape. In the afternoon the boat picks us up and brings
us back to the lodge, where a hearty meal and all the comfort of your
private cozy log cabin is awaiting you.
Day 7: After breakfast you
will leave the lodge and we bring you back to the boat ramp, from where
you continue your individual travels.
